Join the team behind the movement:

Making the web work for real estate

See available positions

Our Mission: Make the web work for real estate.

Bridging the gap between real estate professionals and their clients.

Real estate is the largest industry in the world. It’s also one of the most important—after all, everyone needs a place to live. Millions of consumers are looking for their next home online, and they expect the same kind of browsing and buying experience they get on sites like Amazon and Facebook.

Unfortunately, real estate agents are struggling to provide that experience. That’s where Placester comes in. We’re creating an industry where it's quick and simple for real estate professionals to get their information on the web.

Don’t let that simple description fool you. We’re addressing the hardest problem in the largest industry in the world. As you might have guessed, not everything is written on the home page yet.

Our Culture: Team.

Join the team that makes a difference in a big, complex industry.

Our culture is all about teamwork. That being said, we're composed of folks who are their own brand of brilliant, focused, fun, intense, and friendly. If you've ever worked on a high performing team you've experienced this mix before.

You’ll be expected to get things done and be responsible for making it happen, without any bureaucratical mess. You’ll be expected to identify problems and solve them on your own. But more importantly, you may need to rally a friend or team to overcome them. Both are key tools on your belt.

You’ll be expected to have an opinion because it will matter when shaping the outcome of your company. Opinions are about courage: to speak your mind and to change it.

Everyone laughs a lot over lunch. Topics range from the standard technical, tactical and whos-doing-what in the start up world; but they also weave through topics like the proper structure for the US debt, that great restaurant down the street or how to Sous-vide the perfect piece of meat. Brilliance isn’t one-dimensional.

There’s a local coffee shop that often serves as the perfect distance for discussing a hard problem. We deal with a lot of hard problems and really like great coffee. It’s a bit of a chicken-and-egg problem itself… which is a good reason to take a walk and discuss it over a cup.

In our spare time we also enjoy modeling in front of the server room.

The Office: In the heart of Kendall Square

Right on the red line, modern facility in a city that’s as smart as it is fun.

Our offices are housed in the state-of-the-art Cambridge Innovation Center, right in front of the Kendall Square T stop on the red line. The building is designed to inspire: floor to ceiling windows and beautiful views of Kendall and Boston. Expect the office to be social. Although Placester has it’s own offices, we share the building with many of the areas top startups. Time has shown us it’s the perfect place to make serendipitous connections that will last a lifetime.

You’ll have an Aeron chair although feel free to camp out on a couch, bean bag, or comfy chair. As well as a stipend to grab a monitor or two, headphones or any other accessories. And of course, the office comes with all the requisite (cliché?) startup goodies awesome drinks and snacks, bottomless ice cream, chess, Wii, etc..

The Office: In the heart of Kendall Square

The tools to do the job, the extras to keep you going.

Placester isn’t about playing Ping-pong and eating cheap food (although we have those if you’re looking for them). It’s about building a career with a team of brilliant and motivated individuals. Expect the atmosphere to be casual, focused, fun, intense, and social. Although you are likely looking for a kick-ass team, it doesn’t pay the bills. Here’s what else you can expect:

  • Competitive Compensation

We don’t pay Ramen prices. We're looking for talented people that deserve to be well compensated for cultivating excellence.

  • The Benefits You Expect

All the basics are covered, including a generous vacation policy. We work hard, and know how important it is to have time off to play hard, too!

  • Friend & Flexible Environment

Comfortable work conditions are a priority for us. Our headquarters offers a adaptable and dynamic office environment, and remote work options are also available.

  • Hands-on Experience

Learn directly from folks with a history of success. Our goals is to help you build a career by building up accomplishments instead of just punching a clock.

  • Required Startup Goodies

All the cliche startup goodies, Nintendo Wii, bottomless ice cream, you name it - we've probably got it.

  • And All You Can Eat!

With offices at the Cambridge Innovation Center, there are plenty of goodies awaiting you for lunch or snack breaks.
