WordPress Widgets w/ Placester
One of the great features of WordPress is the ability to use Widgets. Widgets allow you to add content, features and more to your website’s sidebars. If you want to know what a sidebar is, you may want to check here. This article will go over the basics of using Widgets with Placester.
Each Placester theme has its own set of default Widgets that you can choose from. To get to the Widgets menu in the WordPress Dashboard, go to Appearance > Widgets. The direct URL would be yoursite.placester.net/wp-admin/widgets.php – below is what you should see.
Widgets are an easy, code-free way of adding functionality to a site.
Getting started is as simple as dragging and dropping available widgets to the sidebar. Select a widget from ‘Available Widgets’ and drag it over to the sidebar menu on the right.
For the most part, the widgets that are available are consistent throughout all Placester themes, though you may notice theme has its own set of sidebars. You’ll have to settle on a theme that gives you the right amount of control.
Once a widget is selected, additional information, including the title can be provided. In this case, I’ve selected the Mortgage Calculator Widget to appear on Single Property Pages. The starting price has been set to to $500,000 since that reflects most of the properties I’d like to show off. I’ve also added a simple Search Widget.
Don’t forget to click ‘Save’ for each Widget you add. You can then go to the front end of your site to check them out.
