Adding Widgets
Navigating the Widgets Page
Widgets can be added to your site through WordPress >> Appearance >> Widgets.
Under “Available Widgets,” you will see all of the widgets that you can choose from to feature on your site.
In the right hand column, you will see the areas that can accomodate widgets.

Adding a Widget
Let’s say you’d like to add a widget featuring your recent blog posts to the center of your homepage.
Start by expanding the area you are hoping to drag the widget into. You can do so by clicking on the title of the area. In this case, it’s “Homepage: Center.”

Once the area is expanded, it’s ready to have a widget dragged into it.
Simply click on the “Placester: Recent Blog Posts” widget in the “Available Widgets” section. A dragging cursor should appear, which will allow you to move this widget around on the page.
Next, drag the widget and drop it into the desired area. In this case, we will drop it into “Homepage: Center.”
Customizing Your Widget Content
Once the widget is dropped into the desired area, any customization options that the widget allows for will show up in the expanded view of the widget. For example, the Recent Blog Posts widgets allows you to customize the title of the widget, how many posts are displayed, and what information from each post comes through.

The Finished Product
On the front end of your site, you will now see the new widget in the area you specified with any custom settings you selected.
