This abridged version of the NAR’s annual report on home buyers and sellers in the United States provides information on buyer and seller demographics, housing characteristics and the experience of consumers in the housing market. Buyers and sellers also share information on the role that real estate professionals play in home sales transactions, as well as the qualities they value in the professionals they work with. The report finds that sellers are older, have higher incomes, have lived in their home longer and are taking their time before deciding to move. Buyers, for their part, are finding more homes through the Internet. At the same time, there’s good news for real estate professionals, as both buyers and sellers continue to rely on agents to help them through the process.
