How to Create a Real Estate Website

Instructions on How to Create a Website for Real Estate

Step 1

Start by logging into your Placester Dashboard, then click the “Start Marketing” button on the left-hand side of the dashboard.

Step 2

Next, click the “Create a Website” link in the dialog box.

Step 3

Enter the title of your website. This can include the name of your company, the types of property listings you deal in, the area/region you serve, or some combination of all three.

Step 4

Enter the desired web address for your real estate website. (You can eliminate the Placester host domain from your URL by upgrading to our premium service.) This can be the same as your title, but does not need to be.

Remember to keep this short and simple. If possible, restrict your subdomain to three words or less, and avoid double letters. Also, try to refrain from using any extra dashes, underscores, or dots, as these tend to make your site seem less trustworthy.

Step 5

Skip the “Custom Domain” field. You can always add a custom domain once you’ve created your site.

Step 6

Next, customize the look and feel of your site by selecting a design from the drop-down menu. (Note that you can get access to more theme options by upgrading to our premium service.) Click on “View Demo” to see a preview of each theme in a new browser tab. You can change your site design at any time.

Step 7

When you’re ready, you can use Filters to limit which of your listings are automatically displayed and updated on your website.

This is useful if you want your website to appeal to a particular niche or audience—renters, for instance. Click “Manage” to open the dialog box, where you can set multiple filters based on dozens of criteria, including property type, location, and amenities.

Step 8

When you’re finished, click the “Create” button at the bottom of the page, and you’ll be redirected to the WordPress admin panel for your new website.

To see how your website will appear to visitors, simply click on your website title at the top WordPress admin panel. You’re now ready to start customizing your settings.
