Release Notes – November 1, 2013
By Matt Williams
404 pages were being indexed by Google and other engines. We added noindex to the meta for 404 pages and resolved the issue.
The quick search max price dropdown wasn’t wide enough to allow for the full price to be displayed. This has been resolved.
A recent fix caused issues with the shortcode editor when using a non-Placester theme. This has been resolved.
There was some CSS in a few themes that was duplicated in CSS. We removed the duplicated lines.
There were some strange scenarios where the Menu page under Appearance wasn’t fully loading. These have been fixed.
Fixes in Columbus Theme
The favicon and custom CSS was hardcoded in header.php. THis has been implemented with hooks, allowing for more custom options.
Fixes in Fremont
Agent Widget would not use any changes made to an agent’s description.
Neighborhood links in the footer would not redirect to the correct page if the slug for that neighborhood was recently changed.
Fixes in Manchester
Sometimes the sorting drop down boxes would overlap on search results. This has been fixed.
Fixes in Phoenix
Adding widgets to the Sales Search Sidebar wasn’t working. The default widgets remained on the page and new widgets weren’t appearing. This has been resolved.
Fixes in Plymouth
The Agent Widget displayed the description on the same line as the email address. This has been fixed to put the description on a separate line
There was no option to add a favicon in Plymouth. The option is there in other themes and now it is also available on Plymouth.
Fixes in Sedona
When clicking on a blog post in the sidebar, sometimes it would redirect to a non-existant page. This has been fixed.

I am all about getting developers excited and efficient at using the Placester platform. To achieve this, I write blog posts, film videos, create code samples, and answer all of the more technical questions that come in our our support lines. Before joining the team at Placester, I held similar roles at Yottaa, Open Text, Microsoft, along with consulting roles at Oracle, Sun, Intel, IBM, and many others.
