Placester Release Notes – August 30, 2013
By Matt Williams
Updated Filter Interface in List of Listings and Search Listings Shortcodes
In the past the UI for adding filters has been a bit confusing. We have worked to simplify this. Now you choose which filter you wish to apply from a drop down, enter the value, and click Add Filter. When you come back to edit the shortcode, you will see only the filters you have modified, rather than every possible option. This is available on Placester Hosted sites but not yet on the WordPress.org downloadable plugin.
Fix for Filtering Properties with Beds=Studio
In the past beds=studio would not show the proper results. This has now been fixed. This is available on Placester Hosted sites but not yet on the WordPress.org downloadable plugin.
We made various fixes to Fremont, Plymouth, Toronto, and Phoenix:
We fixed the dates in the blog widget for imported posts, removed redundant menus from the admin panel, and fixed the images which were appearing at 100% width on tablets.
We removed some wierd characters which were appearing on category and archive blog pages.
We fixed some typos.
We fixed the same redundant menu we were seeing in Fremont.
Better Coexistance with Yoast SEO Plugin
Sometimes our responsive themes would overwrite certain meta tags defined in the Yoast plugin. This has been fixed.
Micro Data Format Update
We use Micro Data Formats defined on schema.org on our pages. Before they were hardcoded in our themes. Now they are more dynamic.
We have made significant changes on the backend to enable more efficient processing of listings, billing, and more. This is an ongoing project.

I am all about getting developers excited and efficient at using the Placester platform. To achieve this, I write blog posts, film videos, create code samples, and answer all of the more technical questions that come in our our support lines.
Before joining the team at Placester, I held similar roles at Yottaa, Open Text, Microsoft, along with consulting roles at Oracle, Sun, Intel, IBM, and many others.
